Retired since June 2013 from the field of education, Diane Lamontagne needed to find an occupation that met her needs and expectations. Volunteering was therefore part of her retirement plans, when the time came. Wanting to make herself useful in her neighbourhood, Diane found a local organization that corresponded to her values, the Association Québécoise de Défense des droits des personnes retraitées et préretraitées de la Pointe-de-l'Île de Montréal (AQDR-PDÎ). For the past 7 years, she has worked as secretary and secretary-treasurer on the Board of Directors of the AQDR Pointe-de-l'île de Montréal. Various activities of the association also give Diane the opportunity to get involved in the community and to realize how rewarding helping her fellow citizens can be.
