Alzheimer’s disease and its precursors (English)

Alzheimer’s disease and its precursors, MCI (mild cognitive impairment) and SCI (subjective cognitive impairment), have been without effective therapy. Our research suggests a model in which Alzheimer’s disease is the result of a chronic network insufficiency, and thus the network components should be identified and addressed in a personalized, precision medicine type of approach. Our proof-of-concept clinical trial results (https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.05.10.21256982v1.full ) provide support for this model, and suggest the need for a larger, randomized, controlled clinical trial.
